NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — Fire crews are working to contain a brush fire off Sabal Palm Drive.
The fire has burned about 20 acres and is now 100% contained. Crews are actively responding to the scene, refilling their trucks with water near Pioneer Road before heading back out to work the fire.
Smoke hangs over the trees near the area. Firefighters are moving through charred brush, hitting hot spots with water.
Multiple brush trucks rolled through, spraying water from the front and sides as crews attacked the fire from different angles. North Fort Myers crews are helping with the response, along with Lehigh Fire Rescue brush trucks.

LCSO is currently on scene assisting local fire departments with a grass fire.
Residents on Aqua Vista Ln, Duece Rd, Ace Rd, Pioneer Rd, Wayne Dr have been notified for potential evacuations.

Bayshore Fire water tenders have also been busy. Crews hop out, refill and head right back down Pioneer Road.
The command post is set up near Sabal Palms, with more brush trucks staged down the road. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says evacuations are not mandatory, and there is no threat to the public.
The fire has been fully contained, but crews will be there through the night to ensure nothing sparks again. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
