Rain chances for Central Florida are forecast to be higher Sunday while temperatures in the low 90s could feel like they’re higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit because of the humidity, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.
The NWS predicts rain chances of 50-60%, especially near and north of the I-4 corridor starting in the late morning and continuing through the early evening.
“Storm hazards include frequent lightning strikes, wind gusts up to 55 mph, and quick rainfall accumulations of 1-3 inches,” forecasters said.
Temperatures are slightly lower, but the heat indices could climb to 102 degrees in the interior and higher on the coast.
Overnight lows are forecast to be in the mid 70s.
