A 3-year-old child was hospitalized after being found unresponsive in a pool in Stuart, Florida, on Sunday afternoon.

A child was taken to the hospital following a water incident in Stuart on Sunday afternoon.
Martin County Fire Rescue said it responded to reports of a child drowning just before 2:30 p.m. at a home located in the 4500 block of Southeast Federal Highway.

Fire Rescue said a babysitter found the 3-year-old child they were watching unresponsive in the pool. A bystander started CPR on the child for about a minute, and the child woke up before paramedics arrived to complete additional treatment.

Martin County Fire Rescue paramedics transported the child, who was alert and oriented, to the hospital by ground.
