Heriberto Hernández and Jakob Marsee hit solo home runs on Saturday and Otto Lopez stroked a two-run single in the first inning as Miami took a 4-2 victory. Eury Pérez allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits in five innings and four relievers combined for four no-hit innings to close out the win. Marsee finished the day 2-for-4.
Dylan Crews got the Nationals to within 4-2 with a fifth-inning double before the bats shut down for the day. Washington got its first run in the fourth when Abimelec Ortiz scooted home on a throwing error after José Tena reached on an infield single.
Miami gives the ball to right-hander Janson Junk (6-8) on Sunday. Junk comes in with a 4.37 ERA and 1.360 WHIP in 18 starts and 92.2 innings. Rookie left-hander Jackson Kent (0-1) gets the assignment for Washington after allowing eight runs on 11 hits and eight walks in his first two starts, working 7.2 innings and striking out nine.
