TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – Florida gas prices are remaining relatively stable over the past week, despite rising oil and gasoline futures, AAA is reporting.
The state average for regular unleaded gasoline is $3.86 per gallon, about the same as a week ago.
Meanwhile, the national average edged slightly higher over the past week, rising from $4.07 to $4.10 per gallon.
“Florida drivers didn’t see much movement at the pump last week, even though the cost of oil and gasoline futures moved higher,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group.
“If wholesale fuel costs remain elevated, drivers could begin seeing more upward pressure on pump prices in the coming days.”
AAA notes gas prices can vary significantly between stations. Motorists can save money by shopping around, combining errands, and avoiding aggressive driving habits that reduce fuel economy.
While it’s too early to know what gas prices will be on Labor Day weekend, current market trends suggest motorists could pay more than they did a year ago.
The national average price of gasoline on Labor Day 2025 was $3.19 per gallon.
