TYLER, Texas (KETK) – The Jacksonville Police Department officer who was injured in Sunday’s shooting, where Bobby Dennis allegedly shot both the officer and her K-9, sparking a four-day manhunt, is expected to be released from the hospital today.

Jacksonville residents relieved as manhunt for officer shooting suspect ends

The City of Jacksonville said the injured officer will be escorted back to Jacksonville from Tyler by a convoy of law enforcement vehicles at around 3:20 p.m. on Friday.

The vehicles gathered at UT Health Tyler where the officer was treated for her two gunshot wounds and the city of Jacksonville asked residents to gather near along U.S. Highway 69 by EAG Ford, Bannister Plumbing and Teknor to greet her as she rides home.
