LENOIR COUNTY — The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Jacksonville man accused of stealing a motorcycle near Woodington Middle School.
Deputies responded to the area of the school around 11:20 p.m. Aug. 22 after receiving a report of a stolen motorcycle.
During the investigation, deputies used Flock Safety cameras and determined the suspect vehicle was from the Onslow County area, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office then worked with the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, which assisted investigators in identifying the driver as Dejuan Smith of Jacksonville.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in confirming Smith as the suspect in the incident, according to LCSO.
Felony warrants have been issued for Smith on a charge of felony larceny of a motor vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing.
