POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) – Deputies are on the lookout for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Pompano Beach.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 700 block of Southwest 10th Drive on Sunday.

Upon arrival, detectives found a man lying on the grass swale. Paramedics with Pompano Beach Fire Rescue pronounced the man dead on scene.

According to officials, the injuries sustained by the man were from a hit-and-run vehicle.

7News cameras captured a person’s body covered by a tarp with a bicycle lying on the side of the road, as well as other personal items scattered nearby.

After searching the area, detectives said the crash may have occurred elsewhere.
