Detectives are searching for a driver involved in a Sunday hit-and-run crash that left a man dead on a grass swale in Pompano Beach, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded shortly after 8 a.m. to a report of a man lying in the swale in the 700 block of Southwest 10th Drive, where he died, BSO said.
The pedestrian’s injuries “were consistent with being struck by a vehicle,” BSO said. After a search of the area, detectives said the crash may have happened at a different location.
Authorities didn’t identify the pedestrian or the driver, or provide a description of the vehicle.
Anyone with information on the hit-and-run can contact BSO Detective Mike Wiley at 954-321-4841 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch App. If tipsters wish to remain anonymous, they can contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
