PORT ST. LUCIE, FLA. (WSVN) – – After a tornado hit Port St. Lucie on Sunday, residents are now cleaning up the damage left behind.
The National Weather Service said that an EF-0 touched down and caused wind gusts between 65 and 75 miles per hour, which damaged homes and properties in its path.
Alison Rogers, a homeowner in the area, said she saw debris flying everywhere.
“Really looks like a tornado. You could see the things spinning. I was born and raised here. I’ve never seen anything like this,” she said.
Cell phone video from a boater on the St. Lucie River captured the waterspout before it hit the shore.
The National Weather Service surveyed the area on Monday.
