PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A woman was arrested on DUI charges after police said she drove erratically through Port St. Lucie with two elementary school-aged children in her vehicle before arriving at a K-8 school.
Port St. Lucie police said officers responded around 7:23 a.m. Aug. 13 after a motorist called 911 to report a possible impaired driver.
According to police, the caller reported seeing the vehicle fail to stay in its lane, strike curbs and nearly cause several crashes. The witness continued providing updates to dispatchers as the vehicle traveled to Manatee Academy K-8.
Officers made contact with the driver, identified by police as Erin Pozner, at the school. Two elementary school-aged children were inside the vehicle, police said.
Officers reported observing signs of possible impairment and administered standardized field sobriety exercises. Pozner was subsequently arrested, according to the department.
A drug recognition expert assisted in the investigation, and investigators collected a blood sample for further testing, police said.
Pozner was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail and charged with two counts of DUI with a person under 18 in the vehicle and one count of driving under the influence, according to police.

The department credited the 911 caller with continuing to provide information while doing so safely and urged motorists to report suspected impaired drivers.
Police said the investigation underscores the department’s focus on traffic safety as Port St. Lucie continues to grow.
