ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – An Orange County battalion chief was arrested last week as part of a prostitution sting out of Seminole County, according to the Altamonte Springs Police Department.
In an arrest report, police said they were conducting an operation on Friday at a “confidential location” in Seminole County, targeting offenses related to prostitution.
“Agents located several online advertisements on websites commonly used to solicit prostitution acts,” the report reads.
The battalion chief — identified as Steven Sherrill, 45 — reportedly got caught up in the sting, agreeing to a “quick visit for sexual services in exchange for $80,” investigators revealed.
Sherrill subsequently headed to the confidential location, where he was taken into custody by detectives, the report shows.
Now, Sherrill faces a charge of soliciting prostitution.
