Suspect in Casselberry crash that killed UCF professor, his brother back in court
Marquavious Wheaton, accused of killing two people in a high-speed crash in Casselberry last month, appeared in court Monday for a probation violation hearing.
Wheaton is charged with two counts of second-degree murder. Prosecutors are seeking a life sentence in the case.
The crash happened on July 7 at the intersection of 17-92 and Sunnytown Road.
Officials said the crash occurred after police attempted to pull Wheaton over, and he sped off.
He eventually crashed at speeds agents said were well over 100 mph.
Christopher and Tyler Marier were both killed in the crash.
Wheaton is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 14 for a trial on the probation violation charge as the crash investigation continues.
