PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (WWSB) – Residents in Port St. Lucie are cleaning up damage after the National Weather Service confirmed an EF0 tornado touched down Sunday.
The tornado produced gust winds of 65 to 75 miles per hour, damaging homes and properties in its path.
Tornado touches down briefly in Parrish construction zone
The tornado started as a waterspout over the St. Lucie River before moving over the area. President Erin Christensen described seeing debris in the air during the storm.
The tornado spent a total of 14 minutes on the ground and covered 2 miles.
