Tampa man faces charges after allegedly threatening federal officials

  • November 8, 2025

TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – A Tampa man is facing five years in prison for threatening federal officials.

A criminal complaint charges Robert Logan Shoecraft III, 34, with interstate communication of a threat to injure and kill.

According to the complaint, in May 2024, Shoecraft called the office of a member of the House of Representatives and left an offensive, expletive-laden voicemail which included, “we’re coming for you, we’re gonna [redacted] kill you.”

On Oct. 31 of this year, Shoecraft sent a direct message through social media to the wife of a federal official who serves as a White House advisor, stating, “You and your husband will be dragged through the streets like Mussolini … after all this is done. This is our country, and they will make sure you and your husband suffer for what you’ve done. You have no idea what’s in store for you.”

Shoecraft was arrested by U.S. marshals Nov. 6 and bonded out the following day, Pinellas County Jail records show.
