PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -Many used vehicles, tools and other items from government entities across Florida and Georgia end up at the Florida Auction Network, where they are auctioned off to the public.
Vans, trucks, squad cars and equipment available at online government auction(WJHG)
There is currently an online government surplus auction featuring items from the city of Panama City, as well as surrounding agencies.
Some items up for grabs include vans and trucks, old squad cars, campers, and agricultural equipment.
Auctioneers say the money earned from these auctions goes right back into the community.
“All of the money goes back into the general fund, or back into those specialized funds, to provide more better services for the citizens, said Jon Sewell, the owner and auctioneer at Florida Auction Network LLC. ”Everything we do here, it’s one of those things where I’m a local vendor providing a local service, so 100 percent of the money stays right here in our community.“
The online auction ends Sept. 2. Auctioneers say they are always receiving items and there will be plenty more auctions in the future.
