Body camera footage captured the moment when a driver accused of crashing into a church while he was intoxicated was arrested in Martin County.

Geremias Pascual, 28, was charged with DUI and damage to property.

According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies on Monday tried to stop Pascual after they saw his vehicle swerving onto the grass while he was traveling through a residential neighborhood.

Deputies said that when Pascual refused to stop, they performed a PIT maneuver on his SUV, but he kept going and sped up.

Pascual then crashed into a tree, a power pole and the side of a church, which destroyed the air-conditioning unit.

In the body camera video, Pascual was seen getting out of the crashed SUV as an officer ordered him to put his hands up while a gun was pointed at him.

The officers then directed Pascual to come toward him and he was placed in handcuffs.

Pascual was then arrested and taken to the Martin County Jail.
