ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – Nearly 40 people were taken into custody in a recent prostitution probe out of Altamonte Springs, according to the police department.
In a release, police said that the initiative — dubbed “Operation Midnight Heat” — spanned two days and focused on combatting prostitution-related offenses, catching wanted individuals, and identifying potential human trafficking victims.
The operation didn’t just involve Altamonte Springs police, though. Officials said it was conducted in tandem with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the FDLE, and other law enforcement partners.
Overall, police said the operation netted 37 arrests, which include the following charges:
Prostitution-rlated offenses
Traveling to meet after using a computer to lure a child
Possession of cocaine
Possession of fentanyl
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Resisting an officer without violence
“The operation reflects the commitment of the Altamonte Springs Police Department and its law enforcement partners to identifying and addressing criminal activity that threatens the safety and well-being of the community,” the release reads.
