TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Two Leon County Schools employees have been placed on administrative leave as the district reviews financial records tied to the Foundation for Leon County Schools.
Dr. Michele Gayle and Mrs. Margaret Farris were placed on leave while the district conducts the review. The district said administrative leave “should not be interpreted as a presumption or finding of wrongdoing,” adding that the move allows officials to conduct “a thorough and appropriate review of circumstances and determine whether any official action is warranted.”
The district said that because the review is ongoing, no further information will be released at this time.
A statement from district communications director Chris Petley reads as follows:
Dr. Michele Gayle and Mrs. Margaret Farris have been placed on administrative leave while Leon County Schools conducts a review of financial records related to the Foundation for Leon County Schools.
Administrative leave should not be interpreted as a presumption or finding of wrongdoing. This action allows the district to conduct a thorough and appropriate review of circumstances and determine whether any official action is warranted.
As this is an ongoing review there will be no further information at this time.
