August 17, 2026
Units completed a traffic stop at Arthur Lamb Jr. Rd. & Rickenbacker Causeway for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Officers contacted the vehicle operator and issued a citation.
Officers completed a traffic stop at 4400 Rickenbacker Causeway for a move over violation. The driver was contacted and issued a citation.
Police conducted a traffic stop at W. McIntyre St. & Ridgewood Rd. for a stop sign violation. Officers spoke with the vehicle operator and issued a citation.
KBPD units conducted traffic enforcement around the 6200 block of Crandon Blvd. Officers issued seven (7) citations.
KBPD officers were dispatched to a residential alarm at the 400 block of W. Palmwood Ln. Officers discovered the home was under construction, and the alarm was triggered by workers. Officers spoke with the homeowner, and all was secure.
Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding reports of dogs on the beach. Officers searched the area and did not locate any animals.
Officers at Crandon Blvd. & Harbor Dr. completed a traffic stop. The driver was contacted and issued a citation.
Units conducted a traffic stop at the 400 block of Crandon Blvd. for a tint violation. Officers spoke with the driver and issued a citation.
August 18, 2026
KBPD units conducted a joint traffic enforcement detail with MDSO at the 4400 block of Rickenbacker Causeway. KBPD officers issued twelve (12) citations.
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of E. Enid Dr. regarding a suspicious incident complaint. Officers contacted the complainant, who requested a report. The complainant’s tire was flat, and they believed it was intentionally flattened. A report was completed and a case number was provided. KB-26-0775.
KBPD officers were dispatched to the 100 block of W. McIntyre St. regarding a child custody dispute. Officers contacted the complainant who told police her ex-husband allows their daughter to go to their friends house without her permission or consent. Officers completed a report and provided a case number. KB-26-0776.
Units were dispatched to the 500 block of Hampton Ln. regarding a lost property report. The complainant told police they had lost their son’s identification documents. Officers provided a case number. KB-26-0777.
Police were dispatched to a residential alarm at the 400 block of Island Dr. Officers located an unlocked door. Officers checked the residence and no signs of criminal activity were detected.
August 19, 2026
Officers were contacted from the 100 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding a juvenile harassment call. Officers learned a juvenile had a video chat with another juvenile. Shortly thereafter, the juvenile received a call from an unknown person(s) demanding money. Officers were contacted immediately. KBPD notified MDSO, who will assume the investigation. KB-26-0778.
Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Ocean Dr. regarding a suspicious male. Officers located the male and completed a records check. The male was advised of park hours and left without further incident.
KBPD units conducted traffic enforcement around the 4400 block of Rickenbacker Causeway. Officers issued three (3) citations.
Officers conducted joint traffic enforcement around the 3000 block of Rickenbacker Causeway. Officers issued nine (9) citations.
Units were dispatched to the 100 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding a male driving erratically in the parking lot. Officers located the described vehicle and contacted the driver. The driver did not exhibit any signs of impairment. The driver was let go without further incident.
Police were dispatched to Crandon Blvd. regarding a missing child. Officers located the child who was at the neighbor’s house. The child was in good condition. KB-26-0779.
Units completed a traffic stop at the 200 block of Crandon Blvd. for an equipment violation. Officers spoke with the vehicle operator and issued a citation.
August 20, 2026
Officers conducted joint traffic enforcement around the 3000-6000 Crandon Blvd. area. Officers issued five (5) citations.
While on patrol around the 10 block of Village Green Way, officers issued four (4) parking citations to vehicles parked in a prohibited area.
The complainant contacted police from the 100 block of Ocean Lane Dr. regarding a company utilizing pictures from their realtor’s website to use it for a listing. Officers documented the incident and advised them to contact Booking.com. A case number was provided. KB-26-0780.
The complainant contacted police from the 100 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding an unknown person(s) attaching a President Trump sticker to the back of their vehicle. A report was completed and a case number was provided. KB-26-0781.
Police completed a traffic stop at the 400 block of Crandon Blvd. for an equipment violation. Officers spoke with the vehicle operator and issued a citation.
August 21, 2026
KBPD officers responded to the 700 block of N. Mashta Dr. regarding a disturbance after a neighbor observed a male outside screaming and crying. Officers contacted the parties involved. They advised officers they were involved in a verbal dispute, with no physical altercation. No injuries were observed. Officers completed a report. KB-26-0782.
While on patrol, officers issued a parking citation at the 10 block of Village Green Way for a parking violation.
Officers conducted a traffic stop of a golf cart at the 300 block of Fernwood Rd. for a stop sign violation. Officers contacted the operator and issued a citation.
Units completed a traffic stop at Harbor Dr. & Fernwood Rd. for a speeding violation. Officers contacted the driver and issued a citation.
Police responded to the 500 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding a child custody dispute. Officers contacted the complainant, who provided a copy of their court order. There was a misunderstanding and the complainant told police they would contact their attorney to have it resolved. KB-26-0783.
KBPD units responded to the 300 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding reports of a suspicious male. The male was contacted and a records check was completed. The male had a non-extraditable warrant. The male was issued a trespass warning and left the area without further incident. KB-26-0784.
Officers were contacted from the 400 block of S. Mashta Dr. regarding payment made for the rental of jet skis. The complainant never had the opportunity to rent the jet ski. Officers were able to contact the jet ski owner, and they advised they would repay the complainant on Monday. The incident was documented and a case number was provided. KB-26-0785.
Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Grand Bay Dr. regarding a loud music complaint. Officers contacted the homeowner, had them lower the music, and advised them of the village noise ordinance.
KBPD units were dispatched to Galen Dr. & Ocean Dr. regarding a traffic crash with no injuries. The parties involved were contacted and a traffic crash report was completed. KB-27-0786.
Officers were contacted from the 20 block of Turtle Walk to check on the welfare of a female. Officers contacted the female and she advised she did not need the police. The complainant was contacted and advised of the police findings. KB-26-0787.
August 22, 2026
KBPD assisted MDSO with a speeding violation at Crandon Blvd. & Ocean Lane Dr. The motorist was issued a citation.
Units completed a traffic stop for an expired tag at Fernwood Rd. & Westwood Dr. Officers contacted the driver and issued a citation.
Officers conducted a traffic stop at 1 Crandon Blvd. for an improper U-turn. Officers spoke with the driver and issued two (2) citations.
KBPD units were dispatched to the 700 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding a loud music complaint. Officers contacted the homeowner, had them lower the music, and advised them of the village noise ordinance.
While on patrol, officers at the 900 block of Crandon Blvd. issued a parking citation for a parking violation.
Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Fernwood Rd. regarding a traffic crash with no injuries. The parties involved were contacted and a traffic crash report was completed. KB-27-0788.
KBPD units responded to the 600 block of Ridgewood Rd. regarding a Medical Call. KB-26-0789.
Police were contacted from the 700 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding furniture being stolen. Officers learned the furniture was delivered to the lobby and was taken by an unknown person(s). KB-26-0790.
Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Mashta Dr. regarding a loud music complaint. Officers contacted the homeowner, had them lower the music, and advised them of the village noise ordinance.
Police completed a traffic stop for a speeding violation at the 30 block of Crandon Blvd. Officers contacted the driver and issued a citation.
August 23, 2026
KBPD units completed a traffic stop at Sonesta Dr. & Ocean Dr. Officers spoke with the driver and issued a citation.
Officers responded to the 200 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding a noise complaint. Officers could hear talking upon reaching the unit. The owner was contacted and advised to bring their gathering inside.
KBPD conducted a traffic stop at Crandon Blvd. & Ocean Lane Dr. for an improper U-turn. Officers spoke with the driver and issued a citation.
Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding a group of children knocking on doors and running away. Officers located one juvenile and contacted their parents. KB-26-0791.
Units responded to a disturbance at the CVS, located at 726 Crandon Blvd., between a male and a store employee. The male was gone prior to police arrival. Officers circulate the area with negative results.
