Fesssi K. releases one of the Tampa Bay area's best rock LPs of 2026 this weekend - Florida News Beep

Jeff Buckley will fuck your life up. Just ask Zoe Robinson. Better known as the leader of Fesssi K., the songwriter saw “It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley” in September 2025 and emerged from a writing slump to come up with most of what ended up on Jock.

In the documentary, the late singer-songwriter blasts through 100 tunes in a month as he gets set to release his debut. Robinson—who started in the scene as a producer, but is now flanked by drummer Micah Jno Baptiste, Noel Colon on lead guitar, and bassist Vonne Parks in the band—tried to write 10 songs a week for five weeks, and ended up with 30. A baker’s dozen made it onto a slacker-rock record that resists any urge to rest on laurels.

A student of Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest, and Dipset, Robinson’s lyrics vividly capture her pain, inner thoughts, and life on earth while being unrelenting hell-bent on dictating the future of lo-fi indie-rock. Over Jock‘s 35 minutes, Robinson & co. tackle creeps (“Stargirl”), shitty podcast hosts (“Don’t Give A Bitch A Bone”), real love (“1000 Legger”), and even marry country-rock to the drum machine (“Sleep Better Knowing”). It’s easily one of the Bay area’s best rock records of 2026, and it’ll get a warm reception at the emergent DIY venue, Learning.
