JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida will ceremonially open its Jacksonville graduate campus with a ribbon-cutting scheduled for Sept. 9, according to a university spokesperson.
According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, the event will take place at 801 W. Bay St., the former Interline Brands building, which the university adapted for classroom use.
The UF interim vice president of Strategic Communications and Marketing Steve Orlando said earlier that classes had begun on the LaVilla campus, where UF’s short-term plans include construction of two new buildings west of 801 W. Bay St.
After the build-out of the Interline Brands building and construction of the two new projects, the university plans to shift toward developing new buildings on property west of the historic Jacksonville Terminal rail station.
