JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Duval County Public Schools increased security at three schools Thursday morning following a social media threat indicating a potential act of violence.
Raines High School, Ribault High School and Ribault Middle School all saw an increased police presence after the district discovered the threat on social media. Police are actively investigating.
“Out of an abundance of caution, there will be enhanced security at all three schools this morning following a threat discovered on social media indicating a potential act of violence at the schools,” the district said in a message to families.
The district emphasized it takes all threats seriously.
“Please know that we take all threats seriously and will always take appropriate security measures to help keep our students and staff safe,” the message read.
