First Thursdays in downtown Tampa have been a sweet treat for 16 years now, thanks to Rock the Park. The locally-grown concert series at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is a bonafide staple of life in the 813 (even if you have a 656 number).

This week it is locked on the future (new band Maryn Alyse), ready to rock (Saints of Saturn), and tapping in with one of the most soulful songwriters in the Bay area (Sunde). There’s no cover, so bring your kids, pets, and blankets. We’re sure there’ll be cake.
