Welcome folks, to the 2026 college football season!
Hopefully you have all been itching at the bit to watch some real games that matter because there are plenty of games tonight to satisfy your hunger.
It has been an “interesting” offseason to say the least. Between the rule changes, legal challenges, and federal government bills that have taken over college football reporting, it’s nice to finally have some games to dig into.
To kick things off this year we have a full slate of FCS games for your viewing pleasure. Almost all of them are on ESPN+. However, if you’re reading this I assume many of you have or at least have access to any of these games. So, call your parent, kid, college roommate or neighbor to watch.
At first glance, I’d jump in the Long Island University vs. North Dakota game. UND is a top ten team in the FCS this season and Nebraska’s third opponent on September 19th.
Nebraska opens its 2026 campaign tonight against No. 17 Florida in a best-of-three games at “Spikes Under the Lights,” a four-team showcase at AT&T Stadium also featuring Penn State and SMU.
The Huskers enter as the unanimous AVCA preseason No. 1 after a 33-1 season and a third straight Big Ten sweep, returning their entire core: senior trio Bergen Reilly (reigning Big Ten Player and Setter of the Year), Harper Murray, and Andi Jackson, all unanimous preseason All-Big Ten picks.
Nebraska led the nation in hitting percentage and opponent hitting percentage in 2025. Florida provides an early, ranked test in coach Dani Busboom Kelly’s second season.
