JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After a week of joint practices, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have their final preseason game against the Jaguars Friday night.
While most of the team’s starters, including quarterback Baker Mayfield, are not expected to play, there are still a few players working to move up the depth chart or secure roster spots.
Head Coach Todd Bowles will likely use Friday’s game to find a backup quarterback.
Rookie QB Jalon Daniels led the Bucs to three scoring drives in last week’s exhibition win against Kansas City, and has performed well in practice.
Daniels could push for the backup spot ahead of other QBs Jake Browning and Connor Bazelak.
Other players to watch Friday include running back Josh Williams, wide receiver Dean Patterson IV (who played high school football at Steinbrenner High in Tampa) and Ayden Garnes, Pepe Williams and Roman Parodie, who are all pushing for a backup corner back spot.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
