GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A juvenile has been arrested for making a social media threat targeting Gadsden County High School, according to the Gadsden Co. Sheriff’s Office.
GCSO deputies say the juvenile made an Instagram post that indicated they would “shoot up” the local high school, but the shooting did not occur.
The juvenile was taken to Regional Detention Center without incident and charged with written or electronic threats to conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism.
GCSO reminded parents to report suspicious activity immediately and that social media threats are taken seriously “even when claimed to be a joke.”
