Winter Park Farmers’ Market enters its compost era

Minimizing landfill waste is a core mission of the City of Winter Park’s Natural Resources & Sustainability Department. That’s why they’re teaming up with O-Town Compost to provide a detour for food waste at the Saturday Farmers’ Market.

According to a city press release, dedicated bins will be available at each market for solid waste, recyclables and compostable materials.

As with all the food scraps collected by O-Town, the waste collected at the market will be composted into fertilizer.
