Four people were hurt in a serious multi-vehicle crash involving a bicyclist that shut down West Sunrise Boulevard in Lauderhill on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Lauderhill Fire Rescue said the crash involved three vehicles and a bicyclist near Northwest 31st Avenue on West Sunrise Boulevard, beyond U.S. 441.
Lauderhill Police said one vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in bushes. One person had to be extricated from the wreckage.
Fire rescue said there were a total of four patients, and three were taken to the hospital.
“Westbound lanes of Sunrise Boulevard were impacted while emergency personnel worked the scene, with additional traffic restrictions in the area,” police said.
It was not immediately clear what may have caused the crash.
Drivers are advised to take Broward Boulevard as an alternate route.
