Following his release from the Minnesota Timberwolves, John Konchar has emerged as a potential target for the Miami Heat. Miami has an open roster spot and the financial room under the first apron to bring in the career 34.9% three-point shooter.

According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, the Heat were interested in trading for Konchar when he was a Memphis Grizzlies player and could target him now.
Miami are $2.5 million under the first apron and have an open roster spot, so they have the financial capabilities to sign him.
While Konchar averaged 4.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists last season, he shot quite poorly from beyond the arc, as he made 28.3% of his shots.
However, he is a 34.9% career three-point shooter and if Miami believe last year was an exception, they could be interested in adding a solid role player, who can shoot well.

Miami’s recent moves
Most famously the Heat added Klay Thompson after he was waived by the Dallas Mavericks. Adding one of the best shooters in NBA history, gives Miami much needed spacing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.
While Klay has taken a step down in his performance after his two major injuries, he is still a tremendous shooter, who attracts the attention of defenses.
After adding Thompson, Miami signed a one-year deal with center Nick Richards, who gives them another option behind Adebayo and Bobby Portis.
Finally, the Heat re-signed NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion Keshad Johnson to a two-way contract.
