A townhome development in a historic Black neighborhood is heading to St. Petersburg.
The Deuces Rising project will feature 24 for-sale townhomes: twelve with two bedrooms and another 12 with three bedrooms. They will span 1,525 and 1,780 square feet, respectively. Additionally, 12 homes will be reserved for households earning up to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), and the remaining 12 will be reserved for households earning up to 120 percent of the AMI.

The City of St. Petersburg shares that each home would come with two parking spots, along with front and rear yards. The City also owns the 2.7-acre site; it made the $2.2 million purchase in 2019. Horus Construction Services is the general contractor. Franklin & Associates Realty is handling the real estate aspect.
The Deuces Rising is part of the larger Deuces Rising Initiative, which intends to “revitalize the Deuces, the historic African American entertainment and business district along the 22nd Street South corridor,” according to St. Pete Rising. Notably, the Tampa Bay Business Journal reported yesterday that Magellan Housing (through affiliate Deuces Rising LLC) had secured approval for a 126-unit project with retail in two phases –- also part of the Deuces Rising initiative.
The 24-unit Deuces Rising development is set for 22nd St. S. between 6th and 7th Ave. S. in St. Petersburg, Florida, 33712, in Pinellas County.
