LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK)—A second-alarm fire broke out Friday night at a church on Buckingham Road in the Tice Fire District.
The fire happened at 4241 Buckingham Road around 10:25 p.m. First-arriving crews found flames burning through the roof, according to the Lehigh Acres Fire District.
Lehigh crews responded to assist Tice firefighters, and the fire remained active for some time as crews worked to extinguish the flames.
WINK News viewer Sarah Leigh witnessed the fire and sent pictures and videos showing the extent of the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosion Investigations will likely handle the investigation because the structure is a church, according to Lehigh Acres Fire District.
