CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office alerted the community about increased law enforcement activity near 410 Blanding Blvd in Orange Park Friday night.
CCSO told News4JAX that a disturbance involving a possible firearm led to the evacuation of the Publix supermarket around 8 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
Crime scene technicians remained on the scene around 10 p.m., but the sheriff’s office had not shared any updates about the incident. The store remained closed throughout the night.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, there was no threat to the public.

Residents were asked to avoid the immediate area if possible and to follow directions given by law enforcement personnel.
The Sheriff’s Office says additional information will be released when appropriate.
