One person was killed in an overnight shooting in Fort Lauderdale Saturday.
Police said they responded to a Shotspottter alert around 1:51 a.m. in an area near the 1600 block of Northwest 8th Avenue. When officers arrived to the scene, they said they found an injured person. The victim was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Fort Lauderdale Police told NBC6.
Several evidence markers were seen as crime scene investigators looked for clues in the neighborhood where the violence happened.
The circumstances surrounding the incident is unknown at this time. Detectives have not released any information on the identity of the victim and the suspect or suspects involved.
