Florida officers rescue dog trapped in drain using bucket, cheese

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS12) — Tampa police officers got creative Sunday night when they rescued a small dog trapped in a drain using cheese.

According to the Tampa Police Department, officers responded around 9:20 p.m. and used a bucket, some cheese, and plenty of determination to get the pup to safety.

The dog was turned over to animal control and has since found its “fur-ever” home.

Police said the bucket-and-cheese technique may not be taught at the academy, but officers knew it was time to think outside the box to help the four-legged resident.
