The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman accused of being employed at an illegal gambling arcade following a Tuesday raid that occurred in Fort Myers.
Deputies arrested Sonia Pimentel on Wednesday following a raid conducted in collaboration with the Florida Gaming Commission, which resulted in the seizure of 134 slot machines and over $22,000.

The arcades, including Spinners Arcade on San Carlos Boulevard and Royal Arcade on Cleveland Avenue, are among those facing crackdowns for alleged illegal gambling activities.
Florida Gaming Control Commission executive director Alana Zimmer commended the sheriff’s office for their action against the illegal gambling arcades.
“We thank the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for partnering with the Florida Gaming Control Commission to close these illegal gaming establishments in our state,” said Florida Gaming Control Commission Executive Director Alana Zimmer. “We are giving notice to those who want to operate illegal gaming facilities that we will find you and close you down.”
Pimentel was charged with being an agent and or employee of the keeper of the house for gambling and was taken to the Lee County Jail. She has since paid her $150 bond.
