Health officials are warning swimmers to stay out of the water in Crandon Park North in Key Biscayne.

A water quality advisory was issued Saturday after tests revealed the area does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for the Enterococcus bacteria, the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County said.

The Enterococcus bacteria usually lives inside humans’ digestive or urinary tracts.

The advisory will remain in place until the bacteria levels drops to the accepted health level established by state guidelines.

Tests results from the water at Crandon Park North are available on the Florida Department of Health website.
