Last week, a group of parents gathered for The Heart of Parenting – an evening of reflection, conversation and connection, hosted by Anne Louise Carricarte, her daughter Sophia Kardonski and Alex Andrews of The Megan Way at Motivating Minds in Key Biscayne.
Together, they introduced Present Parenting, written by Anne Louise and Sophia; a supportive, seven-week journey and toolbox designed to help parents bring more calm, confidence and connection into everyday family life.
The evening was filled with laughter, shared stories, and gentle reminders that there is no single “right” way to parent. Through honest dialogue and gentle guidance, Carricarte and Kardonski invited parents to imagine what family life could feel like when grounded in presence, compassion and calm.
Carricarte and Kardonski offered what so many parents long for: a pause, a breath and a space to feel supported in the middle of it all.
“Parenting isn’t about doing more,” Carricarte shared. “It’s about slowing down, finding presence, and remembering what truly matters.”
Present Parenting is not a class or a program, it combines modern psychology and neuroscience with timeless wisdom, offering a collection of grounding tools, reflections and short practices to help parents reset during challenging moments, expand what’s already working and bring more joy into their homes. It’s designed to affirm what parents already know deep down – that their love and attention are enough.
The evening also celebrated the continued legacy of The Megan Way, the living expression of Megan Andrews’ vision, now carried forward by her daughter, Alex Andrews. Together, the collaboration between Anne Louise, Sophia, and Alex represents a beautiful tapestry of mother– daughter generations working side by side to redefine what parenting can look and feel like – conscious, compassionate, and grounded in love.
Through joining Present Parenting, parents also support a bigger mission of great parenting, one family at a time. Proceeds help bring this work to teachers and schools, spreading the message of conscious, compassionate parenting to even more families.
As Anne Louise shared, “Parenting is a short, sacred window – not something to perfect, but to be present for. When we lead with love and grace, everything else finds its rhythm.”
