JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office news release said police are investigating a report of a teen shot about 7:30 p.m. on West 25th Street on the Northside.

Police said after responding the 1800 block of the street they discovered the teen suffering from a gunshot wound to the left buttocks.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A ShotSpotter notification went out at about the same time indicating approximately nine rounds were detected. Detectives are processing the scene, talking with witnesses, and investigating leads, police said.

A late-afternoon shooting also occurred on West 17th Street on the Northside, where one person was killed. Police have not said if the two are related.
