JACKSONVILLE, Ore. – Afar Magazine named Jacksonville the most charming small town in Oregon, citing its beauty and things to do.
Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Don Litchfield credits the many locally owned businesses for the city’s welcoming atmosphere. “We’re the first landmark district in the west coast for the town, we’ve got charming inns, the owners of the stores are all family run operations, it’s a very walkable safe community, it’s amazing all the things that go on here,” Litchfield said.
Concerts are regularly hosted at the Britt Amphitheatre. A wine trolley tour is offered in the spring, summer and fall.
The Jacksonville Wine Trolley Tour is continuing to expand its services, having added a third trolley vehicle this year. The tour is seeing an increase in business despite national statistics showing a general decrease in alcohol consumption.
“Our counts for the trolley activities are up, you know, at least 20-25 percent, maybe a little bit more,” Litchfield said. “We had our best Saturday ever last Saturday, we had 105 ticketed riders that kept our wineries fairly busy.”
In 2024, HGTV also named Jacksonville the most charming town in Oregon.
