Teen wounded, nine rounds detected in West Jacksonville shooting: JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A male in his late teens was wounded in a shooting Saturday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded around 7:30 p.m. to 25th Street West after receiving reports of a person shot.

Investigators said the victim was found with a gunshot wound to the left buttock and taken to a local hospital. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, detectives said.

A ShotSpotter alert indicated about nine rounds were fired. Multiple shell casings were recovered, and police said a house and a vehicle were struck by gunfire.

Detectives were processing the scene and interviewing witnesses, seeking surveillance video and following other leads.
