TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – You could feel the excitement in Tallahassee on Saturday as college football returned.
Both Florida State University and Florida A&M University played their first games of the season, bringing plenty of fans, tailgaters and action to town.
The streets around Doak Campbell Stadium at FSU and near Bragg Stadium at FAMU were filled with fans ready to cheer on their teams.
FSU fans said they’re looking forward to a comeback season, while FAMU fans said they’re feeling good about the season ahead with a new coach.
“Tallahassee is back to life, FSU has a game, FAMU and the game is a big rivalry game so we’re super excited,” said Dr. Christopher Daniels, a FAMU fan.
“Go noles, go noles and let’s have a great time,” said FSU students Annie Buschle and Katherine Whitlock.
For some fans, football season is about more than what happens on the field.
“It brings people together, fellowship, and having a good time. We enemies now, back family after the game,” said fans Paul Jones and Little Robert Ponder.

“We’re glad, we’re excited that football is back, the season is back, we hope we’re off to a good start,” said FSU fan Steven Phelps.
FAMU fan Bryan Smith said he is confident about the Rattlers’ season ahead.
“I can’t wait; I know we’re going to get a win today and I’m looking forward to us being undefeated throughout the whole season,” Smith said.
For many fans, Saturday was simply about being back together and having football back in Tallahassee.
