ST. LUCIE – The City of Port St. Lucie is hosting City Hall Field Trip Days, giving students a hands‑on look at how the government closest to the community operates.
Designed for schools and homeschool groups, these special field trip days offer an immersive opportunity for students to explore how City government works and how its services support the things they see and use every day.
The 26/27 school year’s field trip dates are:
• Tuesday, Feb. 2: Elementary school
• Tuesday, Feb. 9: Middle school
• Thursday, Feb. 11: High school
During the visit, students will rotate through interactive stations, meet City staff and learn how various departments — from the Police Department to Public Works — help keep Port St. Lucie running smoothly. The experience is intended to spark curiosity, build civic understanding and show young residents how local government impacts their daily lives.
To ensure fairness and access for all interested groups, a new sign‑up process has been implemented to give everyone an equal opportunity to participate.
How to sign up
Teachers and group leaders are encouraged to plan ahead. The deadline to submit a request is Oct. 31. Space is limited, and early coordination helps ensure the best experience for students. Groups also are responsible for arranging their own transportation and food.
