What does it take to keep Florida stories – and the jobs and investment they generate – in Florida? With the television adaptation of “A Land Remembered” set to film entirely in the state and base production in Tampa Bay, the project offers a timely look at the economic potential of Florida’s film industry. Supported by a $500,000 state appropriation, the first season is expected to generate more than $17 million in spending, create hundreds of jobs and utilize locations across Florida. We explore how targeted incentives and partnerships could help Florida attract productions, strengthen its creative workforce, and compete with other states for film and television investment.
