Following the conclusion of the preseason for the Jacksonville Jaguars, next up is roster cutdown day for GM James Gladstone, head coach Liam Coen, and other decision-makers.

While the preseason games and joint practices will carry more weight in the evaluation process, everything that has taken place since OTAs in the spring will be taken into consideration as Gladstone constructs this year’s initial 53-man roster.

Prior to rosters being finalized, many of the roster cuts will be reported, and we will be tracking and providing insight into every move right here at Jaguars Wire.

After trading for Quinn Ewers, the Jaguars are moving on from Mullens. You can find more on this roster move here.

Jaguars release LB Yasir Abdullah

Abdullah has been a core special teams contributor the past two seasons, but faced a crowded linebacker room this offseason. Here you can find more on this move.

Jaguars waive WR Trebor Pena

Pena was one of the standout performers of the preseason, regularly generating chunk plays in the passing game. The receiver room, however, has seemed pretty well established for some time.

Jaguars waive Baylon Spector

Spector was a late addition to the Jaguars training camp roster, joining the team in mid-August. pector was a seventh-round pick in 2022 and has played 423 career special teams snaps during his four seasons in Buffalo. He’s played 332 defensive snaps as well during that span.

Jaguars waive CB Jabbar Muhammad

A surprise move by the Jaguars. Muhammad was one of the standout performers during offseason programs and seemed to carry that momentum into training camp. This is perhaps a good sign for Christian Braswell.

Jaguars waive LB Amari Burney

Burney was a late addition to the Jaguars‘ training camp roster, joining the team on Aug. 11 to help bolster the linebacker position, a unit that was navigating injuries. He appeared in all three preseason games for the Jaguars, playing 81 defensive snaps.
