The wave of cuts has begun in the NFL.
Former Penn State wide receiver Trebor Peña was waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, according to Jordan Schultz. The Jaguars hope to bring him back on the practice squad.
Peña was signed by the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on April 26, with an attempt to make the team out of training camp.
The former Nittany Lion made a case for himself in the preseason, catching seven passes for 91 yards and a touchdown throughout three games.
Peña played one season with the Nittany Lions after transferring from Syracuse, totaling 552 yards and two touchdowns during the 2025 season. He was a standout in Penn State’s Pinstripe Bowl victory over Clemson, catching five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown.
If Peña returns to the Jaguars on the practice squad, he’ll remain with former Nittany Lions Parker Washington and Brenton Strange in Jacksonville.
