Allegiant Air will launch nine new routes from Orlando Sanford International Airport in September, increasing its departures by 7.6% year-over-year. Eight routes operate twice weekly; one runs just twice. Seat capacity grew 8.1%, suggesting larger planes are now in use.
The new routes connect Orlando Sanford to Albany, Atlantic City, Columbia (MO), Huntsville, Key West, Little Rock, Omaha, and Toledo – each with eight flights in September. La Crosse, Wisconsin, is the outlier with only two flights. These additions offset the loss of two prior routes: Columbia, South Carolina, and Niagara Falls, New York.
Allegiant’s growth at Sanford reflects broader fleet modernization, including Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 deliveries that allow longer routes and higher seat counts. The carrier also expanded from Fort Lauderdale and Mesa Gateway, reinforcing its strategy of targeting leisure demand with flexible, seasonal route adjustments.
