It is one of the hardest days on the calendar for players in the National Football League, as NFL teams have to cut their roster sizes down to just 53 players, and a former Spartan was on the wrong end of roster cuts. Quindarius Dunnigan was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars after failing to make the 53-man roster.
Dunnigan, a Spartan in 2024 and 2025, secured 42 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in 23 games in his Spartan career. He then went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, but was given an opportunity to make the roster with the Jacksonville Jaguars during training camp.
Dunnigan will now look to latch on to a practice squad while he continues to develop and wait for another chance at a roster opening.
