PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A woman was arrested after troopers say she led them on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash.
It happened Friday afternoon on U.S. 19 in Pinellas County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 31-year-old Leondra Walden was seen driving recklessly on the highway, heading north. When deputies tried to stop her, they say she fled and exited onto Roosevelt Boulevard, where she made a U-turn before continuing south on U.S. 19.

The pursuit continued south along Gandy Boulevard and onto the I-275 entrance ramp. That’s when Walden reportedly lost control of the vehicle and rear-ended an SUV, bringing the chase to an end.
The crash caused both vehicles to travel into the express lanes of the interstate, where they both struck the concrete median wall. The SUV driver was not injured.
Walden stayed inside her vehicle until she was taken into custody.
She was given medical clearance at Bayfront Health before being booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
She faces several charges including fleeing to elude, reckless driving and driving while license suspended.
