Sunday solidifies the return of our rainy season pattern with afternoon scattered rain and storms.

After a clear and dry morning, a mix of sun and clouds will develop and temperatures will climb to seasonal highs in the upper 80s and low 90s across the area Sunday afternoon.

A few showers will begin developing in the early afternoon and intensify into a 60% chance of scattered storms throughout the late afternoon and evening. A low-end, level 1/4, risk for flooding exists for the entire state Sunday as heavy rainfall may lead to flooding issues for low-lying or urban areas.

Some storms may be strong with frequent lightning, strong gusty winds and heavy rain.

Conditions will dry out after sunset for the overnight, leaving Tampa Bay calm and quiet into Monday morning.
